EIGHT AND A HALF DAYS UNTIL THE 46TH WERA GNF AND AMA ROAD RACE GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS!

We are counting down the days to the 46th WERA Grand National Finals which will crown champions in the WERA Sportsman winner-take-all sprints, the points-based WERA Vintage Series and the Pirelli/WERA National Challenge Series sponsoring the Michelin/WERA Superbike Class.

The AMA will be joining us for the annual Road Race Grand Championship races to crown their amateur champions in their classes and will award the Nicky Hayden Horizon Award to one worthy racer who shows sportsmanship, talent and professionalism as well as the ability to have a career in the sport of motorcycle road racing! The weekend begins Wednesday, October 24th with load-in 5:00 p.m. and registration from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Some special events for this GNF include a silent auction for some of Kurt Kesler’s famous cowboy hats. We lost Kurt last year at Thanksgiving in a tragic car accident and he would be honored to help new riders in the sport. There will be a $20.00 reserve and it will be a silent auction. The hats will be on display in Registration starting Thursday after lunch and all proceeds will be held and given to any rider who takes their rider’s school in 2019 until it runs out. Please make a point of coming over to Registration and making a bid on these hats – not only will you be honoring Kurt but you will be helping new riders take their school!

Since this weekend is close to Halloween we encourage everyone to decorate their pit area and to have candy available on Saturday evening for all the kids at the event – we encourage those kids to bring their costumes so we can all see them!
