FIRST PERSON/OPINION We’ve assembled a partial, unofficial 2011 AMA Pro Road Racing schedule, based on information gleaned from a combination of press releases, track websites and other usually-reliable sources. The series will be returning to Daytona, Infineon, Miller (for the first time since 2008), Road America, Mid-Ohio, Laguna Seca, VIR and New Jersey. But events at Barber, Fontana and Road Atlanta aren’t set due to a variety of issues involving everything from scheduling to event promotion to rider safety concerns to sanction fees, purse money, accounting and other financial matters. The 2011 series is likely to include 10 race weekends. Which means that in the best case at least one of the three unconfirmed tracks won’t get a race. More information will be posted when it becomes available.
