Three Roadracing World Young Guns are making their AMA Pro Racing debuts this weekend during the Triumph Superbike Classic at Barber Motorsports Park: Kaleb De Keyrel, Nick McFadden and Joe Roberts. De Keyrel, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, won three CRA class Championships in 2012 and is well on his way to more titles with his home club this season. He has also raced successfully with CCS and on the ASRA and USGPRU National series. De Keyrel rides a Yamaha YZF-R6 for his family’s team, De Keyrel Racing. McFadden, of Owensboro, Kentucky, is the reigning WERA 600cc Superstock National Challenge Series Champion, a Championship he captured last October by winning the season finale at Barber Motorsports Park. McFadden, who continues to compete in the WERA National Challenge and National Endurance series, races a Suzuki GSX-R600 for TOBC Racing. Roberts, of Glendale, California, has spent the last three seasons racing in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Europe, where he has won a race and is a regular front-runner. Roberts, a star pupil of California Superbike School founder Keith Code, has also won several club-level races on one of the school’s BMW S1000RRs. Roberts is riding a Honda CBR600RR built and supported by Team Hammer. All three of the riders recently turned 16 years old, the minimum age to hold an AMA Pro Road Racing license. In fact, McFadden and Roberts share June 16 as their birthday. De Keyrel turned 16 on June 4, just missing the opportunity to race at Round Two of the AMA Pro Series May 31-June 2 at Road America, the closest AMA Pro track to his home.
