Second Day of Motorcycle Testing Canceled at Infineon Raceway SONOMA, Calif. (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) – The second day of a manufacturer-sponsored motorcycle test session at Infineon Raceway was canceled on Friday because of rain. Seventeen riders and eight teams converged on Infineon Raceway for the two-day test, held in advance of the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts, May 13-15. It was a record number of riders/teams for a motorcycle test session at Infineon Raceway. “Well, we got one day,” said Ducati Austin rider Eric Bostrom, a Petaluma native. “It would have been nice to get both days, but what can you do? We had a good day on Thursday, at least.” Teams that participated in the test were Yoshimura Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Ducati Austin, Honda, Erion Honda, Attack Kawasaki and Mat Mladin Motorsports. Suzuki’s Mat Mladin posted the top Superbike time during Thursday’s testing at 1 minute, 36.41 seconds. That time bodes well as the track qualifying record is much slower at 1:36.916. “Infineon Raceway is a great racetrack and the safety improvements that have been made are great, as far as the racers are concerned,” Mladin said. “There are certain places that may need a little work but this place is a whole new ballgame since the first time I came here in 1996. It’s much better.” Other top Superbike times were posted by: * Aaron Yates (Suzuki) 1:36.76. * Ben Spies (Suzuki) 1:36.80. * Neil Hodgson (Ducati Austin) 1:36.90. * Miguel Duhamel (Honda) 1:38.68. * Eric Bostrom (Ducati Austin) 1:39.50. * Kurtis Roberts (Erion Honda) 1:39.50.
