Rich Oliver will race his 2003 AMA Championship winning Yamaha TZ250 at Willow Springs Raceway this weekend. Oliver will be running bike number 297. Oliver and long time mechanic Robert Ward will team up again for the 2005 Roadracing World 250/50 event. This week the team was able to rebuild the mothballed Yamaha with a few fresh engine parts sourced from various vendors. Oliver comments, “I am really looking forward to getting in some hot laps at Willow, my Yamaha TZ is such a fast and great turning machine that I enjoy these rare times that I get to ride. “Robert and I really have to thank our sponsors for helping us run the bike again since it’s so difficult to find parts anymore. We hope to win our third Roadracing World 250/50, but we know it will take our best effort, especially since we haven’t raced for a year. I hope after a few laps the old dog will remember his tricks!” This year’s race effort is sponsored by Rich Oliver’s Mystery School, Yamaha USA, Dunlop Tires, Shoei Safety Helmets, Micron Exhaust, Kushitani Leathers, Supertech, Motorex USA, LE Engineering, Cytomax, Drive Systems USA, Paint by Sabatini, Ferodo, Wilson’s Motorcycles, Chicken Hawk Tire Warmers, and Frenotech.
