Reg Pridmore announces a new Sportbike Club

“Team Legend 51”- The Ultimate Litre Bike Club.

SANTA PAULA, CA July 17, 2004 – As a fine wine gets better with age, three time AMA Superbike champion and AMA Hall of Fame member Reg Pridmore keeps coming up with tasty ideas to make the sportbike community a better place to be. He is launching an exciting new sport bike club especially for 1000cc sportbikes called Team Legend 51. The club is designed for an exclusive limited membership of litre bike riders from around the US to ride, race and share the camaraderie of like-minded riders.

Beginning in 2005, Reg is planning a series of track days for Team Legend 51. The club events would be focused around track days at Infineon, Willow Springs, Laguna Seca, Mid Ohio and Barber Motorsports Park. The track days will be planned near the AHRMA events at most of these tracks and they will also be planned just after CLASS Schools at the respective venues.

As anyone who has been to a CLASS Motorcycle School knows, Reg runs a top quality professional operation. “As I’ve gotten older my desire is to have things a cut above in every respect and that has led me to form this exclusive litre sport bike club. I have had a lot of contact from CLASS students and racers alike who feel they might like to go out and have some fun with the team. Our track days would not only be a good time to assess rider ability, but also to nurture riders with a big twin (or a triple) and a desire to join me in doing some very innocent yet serious “Sound of Thunder®” racing in 2005 with AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Assn). I’m thinking of maybe a 6 or 8 man team including myself on my RC51. The races would not be contested for championship points but purely for fun”.

But the club is not all about racing. Since it will be limited to 151 members, there will be some members who join to ride the tracks and just to share the camaraderie and excellence this selected group of riders will contain. Riders with litre sportbikes of all brands are welcome.
