Moto America KTM Cup World Final

In a final season of Moto America KTM RC390 Cup competition, the top five riders from the series are honored to be a part of the World Final being held in conjunction with World Superbike at Jerez on October 20-22. They will be facing the top competitors from the KTM Cup throughout the world for a 2 race battle for the World Championship.

The North American team includes the following riders in their respective series points finish positions

1.Benjamin Smith- USA

2.Cory Ventura- USA

3.Alex Dumas- Canada

4.Jackson Blackmon- USA

5.Draik Beauchamp- USA

Most of these riders have never traveled outside the US, and for the opportunity to do so in a World competition is certainly a chapter of their life and racing careers to be proud of. The competition in the MA series was close with several other riders making progress throughout the season as well, and solidifying the spec class format as a success.

The change to the new 300 class starting in 2018 will hopefully continue to serve as a first step into pro racing, and with multiple brands should bring opportunity for more sponsors and bigger grids. A new wave of young emerging talent getting a taste of pro level racing will hopefully fill many of those grid spots and continue on with the development of 600 class riders as the KTM Cup has provided in it’s years of competition.

KTM and HMC is to be commended for providing a fully supported program for some of the best racing with as many as 10 front runners at many races fighting for a win to the end.

A crew from Quarterley Racing will be present to help the Team KTM USA/Canada set up the supplied bikes and bring home some finishes. Smith, Blackmon and Beauchamp were all members of the Quarterley Racing/ On Track Development team for 2017 along with Jake Leahey who had a short season due to injuries. One highlight of the teams season was a 1-2-3-4 finish at VIR.
