Francesco Guidotti: “Yonny Hernandez will be ready for Sepang 2”

The weekend that marks the border between the first two winter tests at Sepang, presents the opportunity for a look at the situation of Pramac Racing Team with the Team Manager Francesco Guidotti.

  • Yonny Hernandez physical conditions
“I’ve been talking a lot with Yonny even during this week. He told me to have made significant progress in the recovery after the shoulder injury. Ten days are still missing before the second testing activity at Sepang and we can say he is at the 70% of his ideal physical condition. He has worked mainly in terms of athletics so for because he’s still feeling a little lack of strength in the arm. But during the next week he will manage to put together an other 15/20% to get back on the track in the best possible conditions. Yesterday he claimed the last medical check which gave a positive result over his recovery. He is excited, with a great desire to get back riding his Desmosedici 14.2. Yonny is also sorry. he knows to have lost an important opportunity to set up the bike. This is the past, anyway. We have to look at Sepang 2 conscious to have a lot of work to do.

  • Sepang-1: Danilo Petrucci’s first impact

“I would say i’m satisfied with Danilo who went improving throughout the three days. The first impact was a little shocking as he really suffers the heat and even due to the hard phisical conditioning made during the winter. We expected, therefore, the first day to be tough for him. But he worked hard to improve his riding skills and on the third day of activity he managed to further improve by 1 second his best lap time set the day before. A result that made me happy because Danilo has almost always lapped alone, without looking for a slipstream. He had no need for special assistance to get to a good level. Now he must engage to fight against his instincts. He is fast and not so far to remove those tenths to come closer to the top ten. The base is solid and I think the next testing days will be indicative for clearer guidance on the margins for his improvement.

  • Sepang-1: Michele Pirro’s set up activity

“I am happy because we did a good job on the electronics. We are glad to contribute to the development of the bike. It is an part of the relationship we have with Ducati. Pirro has carried on the work on Yonny’s bike. He lapped a lot focusing on electronics. A good test in the light of Yonny’s injury.
