Team wforacingonline.com returns from adversity to compete in 91st running of Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Race to the Clouds Milwaukee, WI – Wforacingonline.com is pleased to announce their entry for the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has been accepted and approved by the PPIHC Competition Committee. The team has been invited to return to the historic racing event scheduled for June 30th. Team Principal and former Buell Battle of the Twins National Champion Wes Orloff returns to the fully paved mountain course after a strong rookie showing in last year’s practice and qualifying Orloff qualified in 5th place position on an AMA Pro Racing spec Harley-Davidson XR1200 in the elite 1205cc Pikes Peak Motorcycle class. Unfortunately Orloff had a season ending crash during the race while running in 4th when the front end of his XR1200 tucked while trail braking over a paint line. Orloff got tangled with the bike resulting in a broken tibia and torn MCL/PCL/ACL. Go Pro footage of the team’s 2012 effort (and crash) can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73u4GLn6-HM&feature=youtube_gdata_player The 156 turn public road course includes the infamous ‘bottomless pit’ corner with zero run off and a 1700 ft. sheer drop, as well as track surface temperatures as low as 27 deg F (in June). The class was won last year by Ducati Multistrada rider Carlin Dunne, who holds the overall motorcycle record over the treacherous 12.42 mile course at 9:52:819. This year, team wforacingonline.com will be returning to the premiere 1205cc class on a Buell 1125CR ‘#8 Pikes Peak Special’. Team Principal Wes Orloff: ‘I am looking forward to returning to Pikes Peak this year. I feel great and the aggressive physical therapy has paid off. We learned a lot last year on the XR1200, some of it the hard way. I have a lot more respect for the course and hope to put the lessons of last year to good use. I am really excited to be back on a Buell again this year and think the 1125CR will be an excellent platform for this event. Thanks to our sponsors, I think we are going to have a very competitive package this year. We have an outstanding volunteer crew and I think they are as excited as I am to get back on the mountain this June.’ About wforacingonline.com: wforacingonline.com is a Mukwonago, Wisconsin based motorcycle road race team dedicated to the racing and fabrication of Buell and Harley-Davidson Sportster based motorcycles.
