Czech Rider Haskovec Signs With OMS Sports

‘Soon-to-be’ fan favorite aligns self with OMS, excited about the opportunities

From a press release issued by OMS:

FLORENCE, Ky., (Aug. 4, 2003) – In an effort to further establish its team of top-shelf road racing clients, OMS Sports announced today it has signed Czechoslovakian flyer Vincent Haskovec to its rapidly growing lineup of America’s top road racers.

From the streets of the Czech Republic to the corners of the American road racing circuit, Haskovec, 29, is one of the more interesting stories in extreme powersports. With a smile as wide as his wild streak, Haskovec has grasped the American culture we sometimes take for granted and arrives as a breath of fresh air in the American road racing scene. Every day is an adventure for him, a soon-to-be-told story that will certainly grab the ear of the all-important outside-the-industry sponsors.

“This is what I want OMS to handle,” said Haskovec. “I worked very hard, for very little to make it racing here in the States. Now that I have proven myself, it is time for somebody to help in other areas so I can focus on my racing. I am very happy to be associated with OMS and look forward to a long, beneficial relationship with them.”

Haskovec has been on a tear in the Superstock class, scoring one win, five podiums and seven top five finishes. His 255 overall points is just 10 points behind the leader.

“Once people begin to hear more about Vincent, he’ll definitely become a fan favorite,” said Tonya Harris, Director of Road Racing Client Services at OMS. “And when he becomes a fan favorite, OMS will be there to help secure Vincent’s future.”
