American Honda’s Nicky Hayden won Sunday’s red-flag-interrupted Superbike final on his Dunlop-equipped Honda RC51 Superbike.

The win is Hayden’s eighth Superbike race win of the season and the 16th of his young career. The victory moves Hayden into a tie for third on the all-time AMA Superbike win list, with Wayne Rainey.

Kawasaki’s Eric Bostrom led the most laps and ran the fastest lap of the race, but Hayden slipped past when Bostrom ran wide and was unchallenged to the finish on Sunday.

Team Blimpie Yoshimura Suzuki’s Mat Mladin turned a good start into a third-place finish on his GSX-R750.

The race was stopped on lap 12 of 26 when Mladin’s teammate Aaron Yates crashed hard into the haybales outside of turn seven. At post time, Yates was being treated for a deep gash in his left arm, above the elbow.
