Chris Ulrich, who qualified 10th overall, missed morning practice and qualifying after waking up with severe pain in his left hip and having difficulty walking. He returned to the Road Atlanta medical center where he was diagnosed with sprained ligaments, related to his crash during Superstock qualifying. Ulrich decided to try to ride in the Superbike practice, reporting afterwards that it was all he could do to run 1:30s and that his hip kept him from hanging off the left side of the bike. He said he will try to start the Superstock race and hopes to score some points.
