(IMMEDIATE RELEASE) “” The 18th consecutive visit by the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series will highlight a truly diverse schedule at Infineon Raceway in 2006 as the facility will feature everything from stock cars to bicycles on the world-famous road course and drag strip. Raceway officials today unveiled the 2006 Big O Tires Racing Season schedule, which is headlined by the Dodge/Save Mart 350 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, June 23-25. Tickets will be available to the general public for every event on the 2006 schedule beginning Thursday, Dec. 1, and stay tuned for a “First Fan Promotion” that will reward two lucky race fans with lifetime passes to Infineon Raceway. The promotion is scheduled to take place at the raceway on Dec. 1. “The versatile nature of this facility provides a tremendous range of options as we assemble our racing calendar each year,” said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway. “That variety is reflected in our 2006 schedule, with something to offer every race fan. It’s going to be a terrific year.” The season will feature two consecutive weekends of world-class drag racing, kicking off with the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, which will return for a 19th consecutive year with the FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals, July 28-30.
