Jake Holden of the Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki team is recovering after surgery to insert a screw in the scaphoid bone in his right hand. The surgery was performed by Dr. Arthur Ting at his surgery center in San Jose, California on Monday, December 19th. Holden broke the bone in a crash at Virginia International Raceway last August, but the break was not diagnosed until just a few weeks ago. Jake rode at the annual Dunlop tire test at Daytona International Speedway last weekend, turning competitive lap times on his Superstock-legal Suzuki GSX-R1000, but needed to have the surgery performed so that he has time to recover and participate at the next team test at California Speedway in February. “Dr. Ting said the surgery went really well,” said Jake, while out Christmas shopping. “I’ll go for a six-week check-up and I should be ready to go after that. I’m looking forward to getting back on the bikes. In between now and then, I’m going to hang out here in Washington and enjoy the holidays.”
