DATATAG EXTREME QUALIFYING SET TO INTENSIFY AS UNIQUE SPECTACLE RETURNS FOR 2015
Datatag and MCE British Superbike Championship commercial rights holder MSV has announced a continuation of their unique qualifying format on the eve of the opening round of the 2015 season.
The market leader in motorcycle and scooter security marking and registration systems extends their agreement into a fourth consecutive season as the Extreme Qualifying shootout becomes even more crucial to this leading globally viewed series.
Datatag continue to use their sponsorship with the UK’s biggest motor sport championship to create a platform to help raise awareness of the unwanted problem of vehicle, property and machinery theft in the UK, Europe and Worldwide.
Datatag continue to demonstrate how effective their ‘state of the art’ identification systems can combat crime, add value and provide riders with peace of mind, but also as a way of testing and researching new cutting edge technology as the company strives to continually reduce crime through innovation and development.
The partnership will continue to be showcased by the naming rights to the three-stage knockout qualifying session to decide the starting grid for the first MCE BSB race at each round. This season this will prove even more important – with a huge grid only the top 30 riders will start Q1, with 10 riders eliminated after Q2, before the final top ten battle for pole position. This means that from the opening free practice sessions on track, the riders will have to focus on being at the cutting edge of the competition.
Viewers at home will be able to experience all the build up and on track action from the Datatag Extreme Qualifying sessions, as British Eurosport will continue to broadcast the event live this year.
Datatag will also continue to provide a high level of security protection for all competing teams and their race bikes. Utilising the unique identification technology found within the Official MASTER Security scheme, which is supported by many leading motorcycle manufacturers including; Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph, BMW, Ducati and KTM, with other major manufacturers soon to adopt the official industry security scheme promoted by the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCIA) and supported by the UK Police and the Home Office.

“Although we have a long way to go yet to completely eradicate the problem, we were in no doubt that continuing with our sponsorship in 2015 was the right thing to do, especially as it seems older, none Datatag-protected bikes, are now being targeted by organised criminal networks.
