Jayson Uribe, a 13-year-old from Angwin, California, is planning on competing in the Monster Energy Motostar British Championship.

Uribe, who won the WERA West Formula Three season-opening race at Auto Club Speedway in January, will ride a Honda RS125 for Cresswell Racing.

“At first I thought it was a joke,” Uribe said, when asked what he thought when he got the call and offer from Cresswell Racing Team Owner John Cresswell. “Then when my parents explained to me that they were serious and that this may be the opportunity of a lifetime, I didn’t know what to say. It has taken a few weeks to really sink in, but now I am just super excited to get over there and ride. I want to give it my best and see how I stack up.”

Uribe will continue to race in AFM and WERA events in the United States in 2013.

Uribe is sponsored by Leo Vince, Pirelli Tires/CT Racing, Arai, Helimot European Leathers, Yamaha Champions Riding School and American Supercamp.
