SMRI Track Day in Albuquerque with Nate Kern from BMW

Sandia Motorcycle Roadracing Inc. (SMRI) is hosting their first track day of the season this weekend: Sunday, April 6, 2014. The event will be sponsored by local two local BMW dealerships, Sandia and Santa Fe BMW. On hand will be multi-regional champion and official BMW test rider Nate Kern. Nate will promote the latest BMW products and technology, provide on-track riding feedback, and hold a brief tech session and demonstration with is BMW S1000RR HP4.

Local dealer Sandia BMW and Santa Fe BMW is sponsoring this track day. For info and tickets see SMRI’s website: smri-racing.org. Paying track day participants will get a free lunch and the opportunity to meet face-to-face with racing Guru Nate Kern. Not trailering your motorcycle to the track? Just bring your ride over to the Sandia/Santa Fe BMW pit area for help removing mirrors and taping up lights. They will also have free coffee and pastries in the morning (while supplies last!).

This event will be held at the Motiva Speedway in Albuquerque, NM. The Motiva track is a modern facility with concession stand, fully equipped restrooms, full-access pit area, and grandstands that offer a spectacular vantage point of the on-track action. Gates open early at 6:00 and rider’s meeting is at 7:00. There will be a free new riders’ orientation class immediately after rider’s meeting that will offer information and on-track guidance/demonstration for those unaccustomed to track riding. On-site tire support will be available for those who need some new rubber or just need tire pressure recommendations. Leather rentals are available on a first come, first served basis and on-site tech inspection will make sure everyone is properly equipped to safely have fun.
