American Stefano Mesa won one race and placed second in another today in the International Open Ducati Club Race event at TT Circuit Assen, in the Netherlands.

Riding a V-Twin Ducati Panigale, Mesa won the 10-lap Thunderbikes A sprint by 21.499 seconds.

Then in the Desmo Quattro race Mesa finished a distant second to former MotoGP, World Superbike and MotoAmerica racer Claudio Corti.

“So my weekend ripping around Assen TT is officially over and had a bad ass time learning and ripping something completely different!” Mesa wrote in a post on Instagram. “I can’t thank everybody that made this possible @ducatistiboelo@crashingbiggel and the whole BLM team for the opportunity and the hard work they put into the bike and the weekend!! Unfortunately the ‘Punisher’ didn’t work as planed, but I’m sure these guys will get it together. Bad ass bike just need some fine tuning for it to be at the front!! I ended up riding a kind of stock-ish Panigale, but man, Thermosman got this thing on rails and we where able to do a good job with it. Ended up getting a P1 and P2 and lap times where very good knowing I only had a few laps to learn this place!! Can’t wait for next year to come around so I can come and rip again around this bad ass place!! Thanks to everyone that made this possible!!”
