Santiago Villa gave an amazing performance and got in the CCS history books again, after winning 14 of 18 races during a twin-sprint weekend at Carolina Motorsports Park, in Kershaw, South Carolina. That success gave the Colombian rider the lead in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regional Championship. Villa also leads the Florida Regional Championship. Villa won all the Unlimited class races on his Prieto Performance Suzuki GSX-R1000 and won eight of 12 of his races on his Prieto Performance Yamaha YZF-R6. In the first race of the weekend, Villa had a high side crash while chasing race leader Jim Cohrs. Villa was attempting to pass a lapper when the slower rider suddenly changed course. Villa had to run off the track to avoid making contact and crashed heavily. Villa did not suffer any broken bones, but he did suffer painful blows to his right knee and hip. Still, Villa was able to pick his bike up and finish fourth in the race, just one position away from the podium. In spite of the crash, Villa was able to run 17 more races over the weekend, winning 14 of them. “This was a great weekend for me and Team Prieto Performance,” said Villa. “I thought my weekend was over when I crashed on my first race. My bike was a mess, and my pelvis hurt really bad. But when I was on the bike the pain was gone and I was able to ride and win many races for my team. “I just need to say thanks to my team, Prieto Performance, for rebuilding the mess I made in the first race. I don’t know how Joey and Sean fixed my bike so fast. I also want to say thanks to Team M4 Suzuki – Rick, Robin, Kelly, Keith and all the guys at the shop — for all the help they have me and my GSX-R1000 for this race. I won all of the Unlimited Classes thanks to the effort from those guys. “This is a historic weekend for me: eight wins in one day and 14 over the two days of racing. I just hope I can keep learning and going faster so I can show this kind of success in the AMA. I had amazing battles with Jim Cohrs (Team Double Chocolate), Mark Miller and Reese Walker. Also thanks to my sponsors Addict By Bosi, Tacama Motul, Arai Helmets, P3 Racing, Heroic Apparel, Gaerne Boots, MSF Design, Eric from GMD Computrack for setting up my bikes just perfect, Drippinwet, and Dunlop Tires.” Santiago Villa # 32 SPONSORS DUNLOP ADDICT BY BOSI P3 RACING HEROIC LEATHERS GAERNE BOOTS ARAI HELMETS MOTO XTREME TACAMA MOTUL MSF DESIGNS BODYTECH GMD COMPUTRACK DRIPPINWET
