RBoM Racing and Knoxville, TN racer Chris Bays have decided to expand their MotoAmerica program and contest the entire nine round series in a quest to win the 2019 MotoAmerica Twins Cup Championship.

After an entertaining 2018 inaugural season, the MotoAmerica technical team made some minor adjustments to the Twins Cup rules package and the grids should be much bigger in 2019 . Bays has made some off-season modifications to his Suzuki SV650 accordingly and hopes to be a little more competitive this year.

“I’m eager to see how our old SV650 stacks up against the newer bikes, especially with the updated rules package for 2019 allowing us to close the displacement gap to the Yamaha,” says Bays. “We’ve continued to invest in developing the second gen bike over the winter and I also look forward to capitalizing on Suzuki’s generous contingency program.”

In 2018, Bays finished on the podium in his first MotoAmerica race at Pittsburgh International Race Complex, and followed it up with a 7th place finish against a deep field of racers at Barber Motorsports Park. After several injuries in 2018, he enters the season healthy and ready to battle at the front.

Bays continues “We’re going to have some great racing between the veterans of the Twins class and the young fast kids moving up from the Junior Cup. The Twins class produces some of the most entertaining racing of the weekend and, along with MotoAmerica’s new streaming video package, we’re going to create some new fans.”

Bays has secured additional support from Copoulos Built Motors, Strip Technologies, Shoei, Racer Gloves USA, Woodcraft, and Armour Bodies.

Round 1 of the MotoAmerica Championship is fast approaching as the series kicks off at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on April 5-7.
