Texas native Justin McWilliams, (age 22) has announced his intentions to compete in the inaugural MotoAmerica KTM RC390 series, starting May 29th at Wisconsin’s Road America. The RC Cup contender began racing in 2014 as a Novice with the Central Motorcycle Racing Association (CMRA), successfully winning the 300 Supersport championship aboard his Ninja 300 in his rookie year. As an Expert racer in 2015, his goal is to continue racing locally with trainer Kris Lillegard, his teammate on the newly formed JK47 Racing endurance team, while vying for the national title.

McWilliams has this to say about the upcoming season: “I am thrilled to have this chance to compete with America’s best on an amazing bike. The KTM RC390 is sure to be impressive and I look forward to racing at exciting tracks around the country with MotoAmerica, while continuing to race locally and hopefully win a 2015 championship at home. Having the support of Kris’ experienced team (consisting of Joey Gutierrez, Robert Bence, Travis Lawson, and Terrance Martin) will be an incredible help to me. I truly want to thank the many sponsors and people that have been instrumental in helping me succeed: My Mom aka ‘The Greatest’ for her love and support, CMRA, South Central Race Center and Pirelli, Moto-D, Race Tech Suspension, SMS Audio, Yoshimura, Spy Eyewear, Shorai, Kris Lillegard and KK47 Racing, Ty Howard, Nick Ienatsch and Yamaha Champions School, Shea Foucheck and Colin Edwards Boot Camp. A big thank you goes out to Wayne Rainey and the many involved with MotoAmerica for creating a sure path to success for developing American racers.”
