In 2005 Reno-Fernley added 2 miles to their existing 2.3 mile track creating a 4.3 mile road course, the longest in the US, with 15 possible configurations making for a mix of horsepower and technical sections. It is possible to run 2 of the tracks at the same time to meet requirements of different classes. This track is fast and, as of yet, unforgiving. If you don't enjoy "the Loop" at turn 13, a highly banked (15 degree) horseshoe left-bowl-like turn, you ought to hang up your helmet! Reno-Fernley Raceway is about 30 minutes east of Reno.
In 2003, the paved road course opened with 1.2 miles, and by mid 2004 it had been extended to 2.3 miles. In mid 2005 they added another 2 miles, making it one of the longest road courses in the United States.
The Reno-Tahoe International Airport is located 35 miles from the Reno Fernley Raceway with more than 80 flights daily into Reno.
