PIR is located just west off from the I-5 Freeway (exit 306-B), about 6 miles west of Portland International Airport in Oregon.
Portland International Raceway is built on the former location of the World War II city of Vanport, which was wiped out by a 1948 flood. The Army Corps of Engineers sold the site to the City of Portland in 1960 and in 1961 the first Rose Cup races were held. The only track on the OMRRA schedule. Portland is a 1.967 mile track with 12 turns, 8 right and 4 left.
