San Diego, CA February 1, 2018 – For the third year in a row, the Yamaha Champions Riding School returns to High Plains Raceway near Denver, CO.

In 2018, YCRS will bring ChampDay to HPR on two different dates: May 28 is Memorial Day and last year was a sell-out. June 28 is the Thursday before the MRA round at High Plains and has sold out two years in a row.

“When your lead instructor and former right-hand-man of World Champ Freddie Spencer (Nick Ienatsch) lives near Pueblo CO, your senior instructor (Mark Schellinger) is a former two-time MRA #1 plate holder from Denver, and third-year instructor (Ryan Burke) is the current and three time MRA #1 plate holder who completed all of 2017 undefeated without hitting the ground once, it’s pretty hard not to sell out,” says Keith Culver, YCRS’ COO and “Crew Chief”

“It’s not just about speed,” said Nick Ienatsch, “it’s about studying what the best riders in the world do to find consistent speed on the track and consistent bike placement on the street. Our program of Champions Habits works on every angle of this safer-faster equation, an equation that is vital for racers trying to win championships and street riders who want to enjoy every ride.”

Mark Schellinger adds, “Motorcycles of all styles are designed by expert riders and we work on expert-level techniques like trail braking, rev-matching and much more with every YCRS student. We have a simple approach: Ride the bike like it was designed to be ridden…by the expert rider who designed it.”

With an 8:1 instructor ratio, ChampDay is YCRS’ single-day BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike) program designed for those who can’t get out of work for two days or quite afford to travel to the two-day ChampSchool. ChampDay could be called “ChampSchool Light” as we introduce you to the Champions Habits, show you proper, and sometimes not-so-proper ways, of using them to better your riding and overall control of your motorcycle.
