When TOBC Racing founder and owner Jon Couch and his mother Dr. Frances Gene Couch died in a crash of their private plane September 19, 2014, at VIRginia International Raceway many thought that the team would die with them. But Jon Couch’s fiancé Michelle Lindsay refused to let that happen, and Lindsay is very happy to announce that the team will continue racing operations in 2015.

“As of Monday, I officially own the team and we will be able to continue TOBC in the 2015 season. I’m very excited,” Lindsay told Roadracingworld.com Friday. “What Jon was able to achieve as far as his vision, the mission and values and with the way the team grew so much in a short amount of time it’s amazing. It was too good to let go. I was standing at the Daytona Race of Champions and the WERA GNF looking out at the paddock and I was thinking this shouldn’t be over yet. And since then I’ve been committing all of my time to figuring out how to keep it going.”

Lindsay spoke to Roadracingworld.com while on her way to Homestead-Miami Speedway, where TOBC Racing will begin its 2015 season at this coming weekend’s CCS event with riders Lissa Beeter, Kevin Heil, Elena Myers and David Sadowski, Sr. But Lindsay said she was not ready to announce full details of TOBC Racing’s 2015 program.

“Primarily, we’re going to be doing some CCS stuff,” said Lindsay. “We’re definitely going to do the Daytona 200, and we’re going to Pikes Peak [International Hill Climb].

“We may have a MotoAmerica announcement in the future, but we only want to talk about these events at this time. We’re still accepting applications from riders. We’re still accepting applications for the Daytona 200. Obviously, we’d like to do everything that Jon did, but I have to be realistic, too.”

TOBC Racing did the full AMA Pro Road Racing series in 2014 and won the 2014 AMA Pro SuperSport Championship with rider Hayden Gillim.
