LIGHTNING AND PIRELLI WIN THE 91ST ANNUAL PIKES PEAK DIVISION HILL CLIMB
Rome, Georgia, July 3, 2013 – For the second year in a row, Carlin Dunne wins the annual Pikes Peak Division Hill climb riding on a Pirelli shod Lightning Electric superbike. By far the fastest two-wheeler on the course, Dunne outpaced even the quickest of the 1205cc class, clocking in just over 10 minutes – over 20 seconds faster than any other motorcycle on the course – to clinch the Exhibition Powersports Motorcycle Division win and finish ninth overall.
“We equipped this perfectly tuned Lightning electric bike with the latest 2013 World Superbike spec slicks in the SC1 front and SC1 rear compounds,” commented Jeff Johnston, Pirelli North America motorcycle road-racing manager. He added, “What a great ride for Carlin. He sure likes the thin air up at the 14,000 foot summit year after year!”
