PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The AMA is excited to announce Suzuki Motor of America as the presenting sponsor for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame VIP Reception. The reception is Saturday, Oct. 17, prior to the induction ceremony for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2015 during the American International Motorcycle Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

“We’re excited that Suzuki Motor of America is supporting this year’s induction ceremony and helping shine a spotlight on motorcycling’s proud heritage,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. “The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame features numerous riders who earned their titles on Suzuki motorcycles, and we’re pleased to welcome yet another in the Class of 2015: off-road racing champion Rodney Smith.”

The public is invited to attend the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame VIP Reception, presented by Suzuki. Tickets are $90 per person and are available at www.motorcyclemuseum.org.

“Suzuki remains a proud and faithful supporter of professional and amateur racing in America, and we’re glad to help recognize the contributions of these motorcyclists,” said Steve Bortolamedi, Communications Manager for Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. “During his years racing Suzuki RM and RM-Z motorcycles, Rodney Smith was a stellar representative for Suzuki. He was a champion both on and off the track. This reception event is a great opportunity to meet with industry legends and share our enduring commitment to racing. Suzuki looks forward to helping nurture future Hall of Fame champions.”

The reception will be immediately followed by the induction ceremony. VIP reception tickets include access to the ceremony, as well as one-day AIMExpo admission. Tickets to the induction ceremony only are $25 and can also be purchased at the above website.

In addition to Smith, the Class of 2015 includes road racing champion John Kocinski, former Harley-Davidson CEO Richard Teerlink, entrepreneur and industry patron John Parham, dirt tracker Alex Jorgensen and longtime Yamaha Motor Corp. U.S.A. race team manager Keith McCarty.

The event also will honor three-time road racing World Champion Wayne Rainey as the 2015 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Legend. Rainey, who himself was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999, is the president of MotoAmerica, the new home of the AMA Superbike Championship.

The Yamaha AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Harley-Davidson, is held in conjunction with AIMExpo. The AIMExpo is a diverse powersports event that is open to trade and media Oct. 15-16 and open to the general public Oct. 17-18.
