R.I.P. FIM Sidecar World Championship Racer Sandor Pohl

Tragic accident in the FIM Sidecar World Championship

On Sunday 4 August during the FIM Sidecar World Championship event at the TT Circuit Assen (The Netherlands), German sidecar passenger Sandor Pohl (Sidecar-Racing Team Kiser) suffered a serious accident on the second lap of the race.

The race was stopped with the red flag. The rider was immediately taken to the medical centre and from there transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away during the transfer.

The FIM and the local organisers decided to cancel the race.

The FIM extends its deepest condolences to Sandor’s family, friends, team and the German Motorcycling Federation (DMSB) for this tragic loss.
