THE DUCATI AUCTION: MULTIPLE FACTORY GRAND PRIX RACERS + DOZENS OF RARE AND DESIRABLE CLASSIC MODELS HEAD TO LAS VEGAS

Nearly 40 examples from the most legendary name in Italian motorcycling will be offered by Bonhams

San Francisco – Towards the end of this month, at what has lovingly been dubbed “The Ducati Auction” by aficionados, Bonhams will offer an unprecedented number of Ducati motorcycles at its annual Las Vegas sale.

From street singles and scramblers to twins and works racers, spanning the decades from 1948 to 2001, an unprecedented array of motorcycles from the famed Bologna marque will be offered for sale, including 15 from the world-renowned Silverman Museum Racing Collection.

Of particular importance are these very significant factory racers and GP models:

1984 Ducati 750 TT1 Works Road Racer – one of three European endurance factory racers and the “rarest of the rare”; estimate $125,000-$150,000.

1975 Ducati 900 SS Superbike Prototype – the 1979 AMA Superbike Winner; estimate $80,000-$120,000.

1973 Ducati 750 Works Road Racer – one of three factory racers of its kind and former Bol d’Or 24 Hours team bike and Isle of Man TT entrant; estimate $100,000-$140,000.

1958 Ducati 125 GP – rare early competition Grand Prix bialbero model; estimate $100,000-$130,000.

“It’s true that the number of Ducatis we’ve consigned is impressive,” says Nick Smith, Bonhams’ US Head of Motorcycles, “but it’s the quality and selection, not to mention the incredible pedigree, that’s just amazing. For Ducatisti – or anyone who ever wanted a Ducati – our auction represents a very special opportunity.”

To the further delight of Italian motorcycle enthusiasts, in addition to the 38 Ducatis of various years and models on offer, there will also be excellent examples from Laverda, MV Agusta, Cagiva, Benelli, Parilla, Bimota and Moto Guzzi.

Bonhams’ seventh annual Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction will take place Thursday, January 26th at the Rio Hotel & Casino. To register to bid (in person or remotely), order a catalog, and learn more about each lot, visit bonhams.com/vegas.
