Copyright 2002, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc.<BR><BR>Brian Livengood won the second of three slots for U.S. riders in the Suzuki World GSX-R Cup scheduled for September 14 at Magny Cours, France, by finishing second in a qualifying race at Mid-Ohio Tuesday.<BR><BR>Livengood, who is currently 10th in AMA Superbike points, and his mechanic will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the World GSX-R Cup, which will match riders from various countries on identical Suzuki GSX-R750s fitted with Michelin tires.<BR><BR>Ty Howard won the race at Mid-Ohio in a runaway but was ineligible because he did not have any Suzuki Cup points.<BR><BR>Livengood came out on top of a battle for second that also included John Jacobi--who had crashed in the heat race and started at the back of the grid--Rich Conicelli and Jason DiSalvo.<BR><BR>The final World GSX-R Cup qualifier will be decided during next weekend's WERA National Challenge Series event at Summit Point Raceway.<BR><BR>
