Salt Lake Community College Trustee Gail Miller has been named the 2012 ATHENA Award recipient. Miller will officially be presented the award at the 36th Annual Salt Lake Chamber Women's Business Center American Express Women & Business Conference and Wells Fargo ATHENA Award luncheon in November.

"Gail Miller is an exceptional role model for all women in this country. She generously gives of her time, wisdom, and resources to promote healthy communities, grounded in education and free enterprise," SLCC President Cynthia Bioteau said. "Gail's work as co-chair of Salt lake Community College's board of trustees embodies both of these traits. The newest deserved honor of Athena continues to magnify the remarkable woman she is."

Miller actively supports a variety of women's issues, including health and wellness issues for women and children, and college access for women.
