On The Front Cover: We planned on featuring an action photo of Eddie Lawson aboard the $1.5 million MotoCzysz MotoGP racebike (inset), but when we showed up at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Lawson had no leathers and apparently knew nothing about the photo shoot. That brought us to Plan B, featuring privateer Jeremy Toye on one of Miguel Duhamel’s racebikes. Imagine our surprise when the Honda photos arrived and the best potential cover shot was this one of Steve Atlas—who was assigned to accompany Toye to record his comments and write the story—on Duhamel’s FX bike. How did that happen? Inset photo by Brian J. Nelson, main photo by Kevin Wing.
