Brake Lever Guards Will Be Mandatory In All AMA Pro Road Racing Classes In 2013

AMA Pro Road Racing Competitor Bulletin #2012-22

To: All AMA Pro Road Racing Competitors

Date: October 17, 2012
Effective Date: Immediately
Subject: Mandatory Brake Lever Guards

Starting with the first round of AMA Pro Road Racing competition in 2013, front brake lever guards will be mandatory for all classes. No later than December 1, 2012, AMA Pro Racing will post an "Approved Lever Guard" list in the Competitor Information section of the AMA Pro Racing website, located at ~www.amaproracing.com/competition~.
Lever Guards do not need to appear on the Eligible Equipment List; however they must appear on the Approved Lever Guard list. This is to ensure that only lever guards of a suitable quality and construction are being used on the race track.

For inclusion on the Approved Lever Guard list, information and a sample must be submitted to:

AMA Pro Racing
Attn: Technical Department
525 Fentress Blvd., Suite B
Daytona Beach, FL 32114
aludington@amaproracing.com

Information should include: pricing, availability, web link and suppliers. Also, a sample will be requested and must be supplied for potential consideration. It will be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
