Jeremy Toye took the Roadracing World project Honda CBR1000RR to a narrow win over Suzuki-mounted James Randolph in the WERA West Formula 1 race this weekend at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.
Riding the Lee’s Cycles-backed, Dunlop-shod CBR1000RR, Toye led every lap to take the win in the headlining sprint race on Sunday. The margin of victory at the line was 1.060-second. Randolph, however, on the Kyle Racing-backed, Pirelli-shod Suzuki, turned the fastest lap of the race, throwing down a 1:27.748 in the heat of the Fontana sun.
Corey Sarros and Alessandro Assanti took third and fourth on their GSX-R1000s, followed home by Jimmy Wood on a GSX-R750 and Christopher Clark on a GSX-R1000.
Clark hauled down four first-place trophies on the day. Clark took his Bazzaz Performance-backed, Dunlop-shod Suzuki GSX-R1000 to the win in A Superbike over Sarros and Assanti, then rode his Yamaha YZF-R6 – also backed by Bazzaz and Dunlop – to wins in B Superbike and C Superbike, as well as a win in C Superstock.
Ryan Matter continued his winning ways on his Joe Rocket-backed Honda RS125, taking wins in the 125cc GP and Formula 2 classes.
