Yamaha’s Jason DiSalvo was taken to a local hospital Friday after he crashed his factory YZF-R1 Superbike during AMA Superbike practice at Auto Club Speedway, in Fontana, California.
DiSalvo crashed about halfway through the 60-minute session, losing the front end over a bump as he trail braked into Turn Five. DiSalvo’s Yamaha landed on his right foot during the crash, according to his crew, and pain in that foot led him to go to the hospital to get precautionary X-rays.
At post time, it was not know if he will return to the track in time to participate in provisional Superbike qualifying Friday afternoon.
