National City Motorcycle’s (NCM) 2nd Annual Daytona 200 Party with the Hooters’ Girls will feature some of the city’s own motorcycling greats. The VIPs include Warren Jamez, Sonny and Donny Angel, and Rob North. Warren Jamez is one of the country’s hottest stunt riders. His amazing stunts were first featured in the DVD “Almost Famous.” Jamez will be signing autographs and giving away copies of his latest DVD “Almost Famous 2.” This year Jamez and fellow Ruff Ryder, J-Beats, will be performing nationwide. Legendary frame builder Rob North is most famous for his work with Triumph/BSA factory race team in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s in fabricating the Rob North Triple. Rob’s hand built roadracers have been campaigned in Grand Prix, Isle of Man, and the Daytona 200 races. Today, many of Rob’s motorcycles are sought after by collectors for vintage racing or reside in museums worldwide. He is still fabricating motorcycles in National City and continues his work with factory and privateer teams. One of Rob’s race bike’s will be on display at the party. Sonny Angel of Sonny Angel Motorcycles in National City, was the first person to ever campaign a Japanese motorcycle at the Isle of Mann – a Yamaha 250 in 1960. Sonny’s younger brother, Donny, is famous in his own right for piloting the Max Lambky Black Lightning streamliner motorcycle in an assault on the two-wheel world land speed record. Don Emde, National City native and winner of the 1972 Daytona 200, unfortunately will not be in attendance but has graciously donated a signed copy of his book, “The Daytona 200 – The History of America’s Premier Motorcycle Race. Motorcycling Hall of Famers Don and his father Floyd are the only father and son to ever win the Daytona 200 – Floyd in 1948 on an Indian. NCM’s 2nd Annual Daytona 200 Party with The Hooters’ Girls kicks off on Saturday, March 11th at 7:00 am rain or shine. Race coverage begins at 8:00 am on Speed.
