Yamaha Previews Its Daytona Bike Week Activities

Yamaha Previews GNCC, Daytona ATV Supercross, Daytona TT, And 76th Running Of The Daytona 200

Cypress, CA – Yamaha bLU cRU riders will be in action in the woods, over the whoops, through the blue groove, and up on the high banks during Daytona Bike Week. Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., will also have bikes, ATVs, Side-by-Sides, and more on display just outside Daytona International Speedway. Demo rides will take place outside the “World Center of Racing” through Saturday, March 18.

Wild Boar Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) (Palatka, FL)

Saturday (ATV & SxS) and Sunday (Motorcycle), March 11 and 12

Two-time and defending GNCC XC1 Pro ATV Champion Walker Fowler, who won last weekend’s Big Buck GNCC aboard his #1 Walker Fowler Racing/Yamaha YFZ450R, will be looking for another victory at the Wild Boar GNCC on Saturday, but he’ll face stiff competition from N-Fab/AmPro/Yamaha YFZ450R rider Cole Richardson (#733).

Shortly after his ATV race, Walker will make his Side-by-Side (SxS) racing debut in the GNCC XC1 Pro UTV class, driving his #54 Walker Fowler Racing/Maxxis/Yamaha YXZ1000R Sport Shift. Joining Walker and Yamaha’s growing team of SxS racers is defending GNCC XC1 Pro UTV champion Cody Miller, who will be behind the wheel of his #1 N-Fab/AmPro/Yamaha YXZ1000R Sport Shift.

On Sunday, N-Fab/AmPro/Yamaha riders Ricky Russell (#212 YZ450FX) (XC1 Pro Motorcycle) and Josh Toth (#202 YZ250FX) (XC2 Pro-Am Motorcycle) will be going for victory in their respective GNCC Motorcycle classes at the Wild Boar.

Daytona ATV Supercross

Tuesday, March 14

Five-time and defending AMA ATVMX Pro Champion Chad Wienen will compete on Daytona’s Supercross track aboard his #1 Wienen Motorsports/Yamaha YFZ450R, along with Root River/Pro Motorsports/Yamaha YFZ450R rider Thomas Brown (#84).

Also, Yamaha’s Trackside Support team from Pro Motorsports (Mt. Pleasant, IA) will be on hand to support all Yamaha riders.

Daytona TT

Thursday, March 16

Yamaha FZ-07-based AFT Twins and YZ450F-based AFT Singles will both be in action for the inaugural Daytona TT American Flat Track event as the world’s best dirt track racers compete on a .6-mile course complete with additional turns and a jump located inside Daytona International Speedway’s famed tri-oval.

The 76th Daytona 200

Saturday, March 18 at 1 PM

With 23 Yamaha victories in the iconic Daytona 200–including a win in last year’s race–Yamaha bLU cRU road racers will be looking to add Daytona 200 victory number 24 to the record books in the 76th running of “The Great American Motorcycle Race.” Don’t miss this exciting conclusion to Daytona Bike Week 2017.

See The 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6, FZ-09, And More

Two of Yamaha’s newest motorcycles will be showcased in the Yamaha Display at Daytona International Speedway. The refined, redesigned and remarkable YZF-R6 and the updated FZ-09 will be featured, along with the YZF-R3, FZ-07 ABS, WR250F, YZ450F, and more.

The Yamaha Display will be open Friday, March 10 through Friday, March 17 from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday March 18 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Hats, T-shirts, and other Yamaha apparel will be available for purchase from Friday, March 10 through Sunday March 12.

Check Out The Yamaha DT-07 And YZ450F American Flat Track Bike Display

The DT-07 AFT Twins Concept Bike, a stock FZ-07, and an AFT Singles-spec YZ450F will be on display in the Daytona Fan Zone during Bike Week (and in the AFT Vendor Area on March 16 during the Daytona TT), so you can get a good look at how Yamaha is answering the call for entries to the American Flat Track Championship.

Take A Ride On A 2017 Yamaha Motorcycle

To demo a 2017 Yamaha Bolt R-Spec, SCR950, XSR900, FZ-07 ABS, FZ-09, FJ-09, FZ-10, YZF-R1S, Super Ténéré ES, FJR1300, or V Star 1300 Deluxe, go to the Yamaha Display at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, March 10 through Friday, March 17 from 9 AM to 5 PM, or on Saturday, March 18 from 9 to 3 PM. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid motorcycle license (permits are not allowed), a DOT-approved helmet, long pants, enclosed shoes, a shirt, and eye protection. To ride the FZ-10 or YZF-R1S, you also must be at least 25 years of age.
