Yamaha Announces 2013 U.S. Road Racing Contingency Program Cypress, CA February 15, 2013 – Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., today, announced its Road Racing Contingency Program for the 2013 season. The program is designed to encompass a broad spectrum of road racing series in the U.S., from the AMA Pro Racing series to numerous local and regional road racing events, including the addition of the new Moto West Grand Prix series at Willow Springs International Raceway. Commenting on the program, Mike Guerra, Racing Division Department Manager for Yamaha said, “We’re very pleased to once again, provide contingency support to Yamaha road racers across the U.S. Last year’s Yamaha Road Racing Contingency Program was hugely popular, and contingency postings for this year have increased by 73% to bring the total available winnings to more than half a million dollars. “Our Road Racing Contingency Program continues to provide us with a vital connection to those racers who rely on Yamaha products and support to compete and win,” Guerra continued. “Last season, in the AMA Pro Racing Series alone, the majority of competitors in Daytona SportBike and SuperSport rode Yamaha YZF-R6s, and the contingency program helped support them.” Road racers across the country who compete in sanctioned events aboard a qualified Yamaha YZF-R6 and/or YZF-R1 motorcycle while displaying the trademark “tuning forks” logo–are eligible for support through Yamaha’s Contingency Program.
