Charity Auction to Honor Injured Young Motorcycle Racer Bid on a two-day school at the Yamaha Champions Riding School TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH (July 27, 2012) “” The Yamaha Champions Riding School, based at Miller Motorsports Park, will be hosting an online auction to honor a young motorcycle racer who was injured in a racing accident in April. Ben Truslow is a 17-year-old from Southern California. A graduate of the Yamaha Champions Riding School’s Youth Racer Program, he was racing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on April 8 when he made contact with another motorcycle, causing him to crash and hit his head on the pavement. Following brain surgery, Truslow is now facing a long road of rehabilitation and therapy. His condition is much improved, and he will be attending the MotoGP World Championship race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca over the weekend of July 28-29. Thanks to the generosity of Chicken Hawk Racing, the Yamaha Champions Riding School will launch an online auction to honor Truslow and benefit his favorite charities, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Ride for Kids. Chicken Hawk Racing has donated a two-day course at the Yamaha Champions Riding School (valued at $2,295), and the auction will go live on Friday, July 27, and will last until Friday, August 10. The auction will be online at www.MillerMotorsportsPark.com. “Ben is just a great kid,” said YCRS Lead Instructor Nick Ienatsch. “He is part of our Youth Racer Program at the Yamaha Champions Riding School, and was well on his way to a probable career in professional motorcycle racing. He showed a lot of talent when he was here, and has been making all the right moves to get himself where he wants to be. Sadly, his accident in April has been a substantial setback. We’re all racers, and when one of us needs help, the rest of us step up. We appreciate Chicken Hawk Racing donating a two-day YCRS course for the auction, and we hope it raises a lot of money to benefit Ben’s favorite charities, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Ride for Kids. I guarantee that the auction winner will get the best we have to offer, and will have a lifetime of memories to take home with their graduation certificate!” David Podolsky, the founder of Chicken Hawk Racing, said, “Chicken Hawk Racing is truly proud to be involved with the Yamaha Champions Riding School in this effort to help raise funds for Ben Truslow’s favorite charities, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Ride for Kids. I met Ben and his father at the races, and Ben is a very likeable and capable racer. Chicken Hawk Racing had been providing some support prior to his accident and injury, and we are pulling for him to have the best and fastest recovery possible. Our relationship with the Yamaha Champions Riding School is one we value not only because of their professionalism, but also their passion for the sport and the racers. We know this cooperation to auction off a two-day school to assist the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Ride for Kids will make everyone feel good”¦especially the winner of the auction!” To obtain tickets for or information about Miller Motorsports Park or the Yamaha Champions Riding School, call 435-27-SPEED (435-277-7333) or visit the track’s website at www.MillerMotorsportsPark.com.
