TORRES TO JOIN MV AGUSTA REPARTO CORSE FOR THE 2018 MOTUL FIM SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse officially announce Jordi Torres to join the squad for the WorldSBK season 2018. Once the last race of the current season will be over, the Catalan rider will switch to the Italian based team ahead of the upcoming MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship.

Torres makes his debuts in the Moto2 World Championship in 2010, winning a race in 2013 at the German GP. In 2015 Jordi moved steadily to the Superbike World Championship, ending up the season in 5th position, with 3 podiums and 1 victory.

The 30-year-old Spaniard will debut with the MV Agusta F4 RC during the first winter test, to get familiar with the bike and get ready for the new season.

Andrea Quadranti, Team Principal – We are really glad to have signed this contract with Jordi, its strength and its talent make him the best choice to continue the development on our F4 RC and to consistently claim important results. We definitely look forward to seeing Jordi on our bike for the winter test. I would also like to extend my personal thanks to Leon Camier, who will leave us at the end of the season for a new professional adventure.

Jordi Torres, rider – I’m really excited to start this new season with Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse. Over these last years I have been able to evaluate the excellent growth of the F4 RC and I am sure we will be able to take some very positive results in 2018. Thanks to Andrea Quadranti, Giovanni Castiglioni and MV Agusta for believing in me and my potential; I really look forward to riding this bike during the next tests.
