Vmoto Vintage Racing Series Announces Four-race 2006 Schedule

Today the Llew Kinst president of the Vintage Motorcycle Racing Association (Vmoto) announced a 4 race schedule for the clubs 2006 championship road racing season. 2006 will be the fourth season of Vmoto racing on the west coast and promises to be the best yet. Spring Club Event “” Laguna Seca, February 11 – 12 3rd Reno Historic Races “” Reno – Fernley Raceway, April 22 – 23 30th Portland Historic, July 7 – 9 Reno Memorial Race “” Reno – Fernley Raceway, September 9 – 10 The April 22nd Reno race and the July 7th Portland race are large spectator events held in association with the Historic Motor Sports Association (HMSA) and feature both vintage motorcycles and automobiles in weekend long racing. HMSA is the same group that puts on the world famous Monterey Historic Automobile races each August at Laguna Seca. “Having the vintage motorcycles be a part of our events is a win win for both groups” said Cris Vangagriff president of HMSA. “this gives the motorcycle community a chance to play on a much larger stage and be exposed to a very broad audience, plus it adds a new and exciting element to our events that the spectators really enjoy.” Entry for the Vmoto races can be made via the club web site www.vintagemoto.com. The Reno Historic Races will be the first major event to use the newly extended road course at the raceway which is one of the longest in the nation at 4.3 miles. Spectators can see the cars on and off track with an open paddock where they can meet the drivers and inspect cars up close; world class historic cars from prestigious manufacturers such as Ferrari, Jaguar, Porsche and Corvette that were raced in great series such as Formula 1, CAN AM, Trans-Am, in addition to Stock Cars and Grand Prix Motorcycles can be heard and enjoyed.
