Vito Ippolito Re-Elected To Third Term As FIM President

Vito Ippolito wins a third term as FIM President

Earlier today at the FIM General Assembly held in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, sixty-two-year-old Venezuelan-born Vito Ippolito was re-elected for a third four-year term of office as FIM President.

One hundred and three national federations took part in the election. Vito Ippolito secured his victory by attracting a total of sixty-two votes against forty-one votes obtained by the only other candidate, Jorge Viegas of Portugal.

Speaking immediately after learning of his re-election, Vito Ippolito said: “I am extremely pleased to have been given the opportunity to continue in my role as FIM President and would like to personally thank all those who have given me their loyal support, not only today but over the past eight years.”

Vito concluded by stating: “I feel the FIM has achieved much in recent times, but we still have work to do and I am delighted that I will be able to steer and assist the FIM as we look towards the future and the many challenges that we still have to meet over the next four years.”

In a further election for three positions on the FIM Board of Directors, the three candidates Messrs Nasser Khalifa Al Atya of Qatar, Andrzej Witkowski of Poland and Jacques Bolle of France were elected by the FIM General Assembly.
