Vesrah Suzuki’s Tray Batey and John Jacobi were back on top in the Dunlop/WERA National Endurance Series Saturday, riding a GSX-R1000 to win a 4-hour race at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway by four laps.

Army of Darkness (AOD) took second overall, with Sam Fleming, Scott Brown and Ben Walters winning in the Mediumweight Superbike class on a Suzuki GSX-R600. Team Velocity Racing completed the podium at third overall, winning in the Heavyweight Superstock class with Chuck Ivey, Bradley Champion, Reuben Frankenfield and Steven Breckenridge on a Yamaha YZF-R1.

Bo Morgan and Derek Keyes gave Dixie Mafia the Lightweight Superbike class win on a Suzuki SV650. The team finished sixth overall and 10 laps ahead of the next Lightweight Superbike team.

Neighbor of the Beast finished a lap down from Dixie Mafia in seventh overall, but the finish gave Melissa Berkoff, Scott Fisher and Chris Pyles the Mediumweight Superstock class win on a Yamaha YZF-R6. The team finished just 41 seconds ahead of second-in-class CherokeeChallenge.net.

At the start of the race, Frankenfield took the lead, but Batey passed him on the second lap and began to pull away. Frankenfield was initially second, and AOD’s Walters trailed in third.

Team Velocity Racing’s lead over AOD lasted until the third hour, when AOD moved ahead and went on to finish one lap ahead.

There were no red flags during the race, despite a nearly full grid of 42 bikes.
