Relationship Severed Between VP Racing and CL Bryant SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — VP Racing Fuels, Inc. announced its relationship with C.L. Bryant, Inc. has been terminated. Formerly one of VP’s bulk master distributors, C.L. Bryant is no longer marketing the VP Racing product line. “It’s unfortunate it had to come to this,” said Fred Morrison, VP’s President and CEO, “but based on a number of issues, C.L. Bryant left us no choice. First, to our total surprise this past November 18, C.L. Bryant announced the “addition” of Sunoco racing fuels to its product line. However, with the announcement, its website and sales materials were changed, replacing the VP product logo in its entirety with the Sunoco product logo.” “Secondly,” Morrison continued, “representatives of C.L. Bryant, Inc. have misled the marketplace by claiming ‘VP cut off the supply of VP fuels to C.L. Bryant, Inc.,’ implying this necessitated its switch to Sunoco. To the contrary, VP was dismayed by the November 18 announcement and has been, in fact, attempting to retain C.L. Bryant, Inc. as a distributor. To that point, VP was not refusing, and had never refused, to ship product to C.L. Bryant.” “In the most recent development, however, this past week C.L. Bryant stopped payment on more than $100,000 due VP for delivered products and owes VP in excess of $290,000. This is a clear breach of contract which precludes any future shipments to C.L. Bryant from VP. VP’s agreement with Bryant includes Bryant’s personal guarantee of payment of any invoice within a set time period. VP can’t continue to do business with customers who won’t honor signed agreements and refuse to pay their bills, so we have no choice but to discontinue our relationship and sue for payment.” If any customers of C.L. Bryant, Inc. encounter difficulty obtaining VP Racing Fuels products from C.L. Bryant, Inc., they are encouraged to contact VP directly at (951) 674-9167 to arrange for alternate delivery. VP Racing has been making the best fuels for motorsports since 1975, currently producing more than 60 unique blends.
