Marcel Graeber (Suz GSX-R1000) 2:02.158 More, from a press release issued by Pirelli: Pirelli on AMA Superstock, Supersport Front Rows: Miller Motorsports Park. Pirelli SuperCorsa Pro tires put racers Michael Barnes and Geoff May on the front row of the Supersport grid at the AMA Superbike event at Miller Motorsports Park, Tooele, Utah. May claimed third fastest while teammate Barnes was fourth fastest, each riding Suzuki GSX-R600s for Team M4 EMGO Suzuki. Qualifying an impressive 12th, also on Pirelli tires, was youngster Michael Beck, riding a Yamaha. In Superstock qualifying, Geoff May was third fastest on his Suzuki GSX-R1000, sporting a set of Pirelli’s Diablo Superbike Slicks. Following Friday’s domination of the clock in Supersport and Superstock, May’s and Barnes’ front-row grid positions bode well for them in the races on Sunday. May’s grid position in Superstock is a particularly positive omen because he qualified on race tires, the same spec-rubber used by all teams in the Parts Canada Superbike Series. Racer Chris Ulrich maintained his pace from Friday’s practice and qualified his RoadacingWorld.com Suzuki in tenth for Superstock. Matt Lynn of Team Millennium KWS Suzuki earned the 11th spot on the grid, backing up his series of high qualifying positions during the 2006 AMA road racing season. In the first Superbike race of the double-header weekend, Matt Lynn finished 13th on his Millennium KWS Suzuki. Lynn’s finish also had him listed as fifth-placed privateer, just behind the three Jordan Suzuki riders and Honda-sponsored Larry Pegram. The Formula Xtreme race saw Michael Barnes finish seventh, on his Team M4 EMGO Suzuki-prepared GSX-R600, from his second-row starting position. HotbodiesRacing.com rider Taylor Knapp fought a race-long battle for tenth, finishing 26 seconds ahead of the eleventh-place rider.
