The Why We Ride – Minimoto USA Championship completed their fifth race of the 2014 series this past weekend at Shasta Kart Track in Redding, CA this past weekend.

MINIMOTO BEGINNER

In the Minimoto Beginner class, Mid-South Minimoto’s Bandit Landers from La Crescenta, CA took the win in the first and second Minimoto Beginner races with Lorenzo Gargenese coming in second place.

MINIMOTO JUNIOR

In all of the practice sessions prior to the races, Beverly Hills Ducati sponsored rider, Errol Sullivan showed some very impressive speed and it looked like he was going to run away from the grid in the races, but a highside in the first race on the first lap and a tip over in the back straight chicane worked against him.

Instead it was Bruce Racing’s factory rider, Troy Bruce who stepped up, got even faster for his Sunday races and won both legs of Minimoto Junior on his IAME powered, PMT shod, DM machine.

The rider leading the Minimoto Junior championship, Texas Devil Racing’s Evan Alexander (Bay area) got second in both legs on his BZM powered GRC with Tide Mark’s Emi Van Cleave rounding out the podium on her SG powered DM.

All of the kids in the Minimoto Junior class showed much improved speed this weekend of racing and all are acknowledged for improving very much.

MINIMOTO PRO

In the Minimoto Pro race, Mid-South Minimoto sponsored racer Rocco Landers aboard his SG powered DM ran away with the win with Errol Sullivan taking second place.

Minimoto UNLIMITED

In the Minimoto Unlimited race Jason Bruce and Kyle Brown got together at the start with Kyle Brown getting the raw end of the deal and crashing out. Jason cruised to an easy victory.

MINIMOTO VET

Jon Amico and Jason Bruce squared off in the Vet race and it was a great battle until Jason Bruce ran out of gas and Jon Amico wheelied to the win.

MINIGP MOD PRO

In the Mini GP Mod Pro race, Rocco Landers, riding his KTM 50 took the win over Paul Van Cleave, Emi Van cleave and Errol Sullivan who was borrowing an underpowered bike to get some points after his KTM had a mechanical before the race.

BRITTLE BIKERSGarret Van Drielen took the win over Edmund Enriquez and Tide Mark’s Paul Van Cleave in the Brittle Bikers class.250 SUPERMOTOGarret Van Drielen took control of the 250 Supermoto race on the 3rd lap and never looked back. Brenden Ketelsen aboard his 85cc Honda worked hard to keep Kyle Brown behind him. Cory Ventura ran wide in the chicane early on and took fourth place.FORMULA MOTOIn the start of the Formula Moto race, Brenden had a problem with his brakes going into turn one, threw his hand up and somehow safely got out of the way of his competitors. Kyle Brown led the race in the beginning, but Cory Ventura took control on the 5th lap and took a commanding win over Kyle Brown and Daniel Torres.

Our next round is going to be at the Perris Kart track in Lake Perris, CA. Come out and race with us!
