Team Rabid Transit Will Race This Weekend at Interlagos In Brazil With Renzo Ferreira And Brandon Cretu

Always on the go, Team Rabid Transit will head to Sao Paulo, Brazil this weekend to compete in round five of the Superbike Series Brasil. Superbike Series Brasil is considered the premier series in the South American country. Renzo Ferreira and Brandon Cretu, both riders for Team Rabid Transit in MotoAmerica this season, will be riding at the renowned Interlagos Circuit, famous for hosting Formula 1 and Moto GP in the past.

Ferreira began his career in the Superbike Series Brasil and last year, won the Pirelli Cup Championship, which is a spec class using Honda CBR500R machinery. This year, he moved to America with his family and began competing in the MotoAmerica KTM RC390 Cup, achieving multiple top ten finishes. Ferreira will once again compete in the Pirelli Cup Championship aboard a Honda CBR500R prepared and supported by Santa Cruz Racing, who are also the exclusive importers of HEL brake lines and GB Racing crash protection products into Brazil.

This trip will mark the second time Cretu has traveled to Brazil to race with Superbike Series Brasil at Interlagos. He last rode there in 2014 for Santa Cruz Racing and started off well in the race but, unfortunately, retired early due to a mechanical issue. Cretu is hoping to redeem himself with a good result this season as he pilots a factory supported Kawasaki ZX10R for Team Kawasaki Brazil.

Renzo Ferreira commented:

“I am very excited to be back home in Brasil to race in front of family and friends here. I am looking forward to getting back on track at Interlagos and aim for a top class finish!”

Brandon Cretu commented:

“I think I speak the obvious when I say that I am super excited to be heading back to Interlagos. I’ll be with a great team in the paddock and really looking forward to getting out and riding Interlagos again. Everything has been such a whirlwind lately with the team taking on new challenges and directions but we wouldn’t have it any other way!”
