(ASMC) congratulates Team M4 EMGO Suzuki’s Geoff May and Michael Barnes for bringing home two podium finishes in the recent AMA Supersport race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., on Sunday, June 4, 2006. This is his second Supersport podium of the season. “I feel great,” said May, who rode his M4 EMGO Suzuki GSX-R600 to second place. “I’ve been feeling like this is how it’s going to be all along. The team and I, we’ve been working real hard all weekend. And then I just put my head down. I really wanted it bad this weekend. I really wanted to be on the podium.” Teammate Barnes, 36, joined the satellite Suzuki road race team when he stepped in to ride for injured Vincent Haskovec last year. Barnes is currently seventh overall in AMA Supersport and this is his second Supersport podium of the season. “Geoff kind of surprised me towards the end,” said third-place finisher Barnes. “My Pirelli tires worked great from beginning to end. My M4 EMGO Suzuki did a great job this weekend.” May, Barnes and the rest of the Suzuki support teams will next compete in AMA road racing at the brand-new Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, June 16 – 18.
