Shelina Moreda To Compete Aboard A TOBC Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 In MotoAmerica Supersport At Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Monterey, CA – July 17, 2015 – This weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, northern Californian Shelina Moreda will race the #93 Graves Motorsports-prepared TOBC racing Yamaha YZF-R6 in MotoAmerica’s Supersport class. The announcement was made by TOBC racing team owner Michelle Lindsay.

For Shelina, the weekend marks her return to AMA-sanctioned professional road racing and her first racing event with the MotoAmerica series and TOBC racing. She just returned to the U.S. after testing in Japan for the upcoming Suzuka 4 Hours endurance race, which she will compete in on Saturday, July 25, 2015.

“At the onset of purchasing the team, I thought we were going to race at Pikes Peak,” Michelle said. “Unfortunately, our sponsor pulled out less than a month before the race, and we had already committed to Shelina as our rider for that event. Shelina is a true professional. She’s not only talented, but charismatic, passionate, fun, and she deserves to be racing. I really wanted TOBC racing to have an opportunity to work with her. Plus, having another women dedicated to road racing under the same tent is inspiring for me, personally. All of us at TOBC racing are thrilled to have this opportunity to work with Shelina.”

Shelina commented, “I’m really excited to be racing at Laguna with a team that is the caliber of TOBC racing. The team owner, Michelle Lindsay, is a go-getter. I have a big challenge ahead of me because I haven’t been on a proper 600 racebike in 2 1/2 years…with only one exception…so I’m learning to get comfortable on a well-setup bike all over again. Our test at Fontana last week was the first time I’d seen the TOBC racing R6, and it was such a treat (even if it was a little bit intimidating!) to have Keith McCarty, Chuck Graves, James Siddall, Scott Harwell, Bryce Eikelberger, and Geoff Cesmat all there making sure the bike and I got sorted.

“I’m seriously looking forward to this weekend. It means a lot to me to have an opportunity like this. I really appreciate TOBC racing and what they stand for. Also, special thanks to Cycle Gear for coming on board as a sponsor for me this weekend.”
