TROY AND SAM GET HITCHED IN STYLE!

At 3:30 pm, on Sunday 23rd January, Troy and Sam tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on the City Beach, Wollongong in front of their family and friends.

The couple walked up a flower-strewn path before taking their vows in front of wedding official Barbara Dent.

Sam wore a dress designed by herself and Suzanna Blazevic of Personalised Weddings and looked happy and radiant throughout the day. She was given away by her mother Linda and had Sheri Russell as her Maid of Honour and Teija Arnold and Karen Stolk as her bridesmaids. Troy wore a Paul Smith suit and was accompanied by his best man, Ian “Pooh” Kearton and Groomsmen Nigel Arnold and Craig Stolk. Troy and Sam’s son Kalani looked very grown up in his Page Boy suit, helped by Flower Girl, cousin Madeline Carr

The flowers were by Bulli Bunches and were a highlight of the ceremony, as was the entertainment provided by the Po Boys at the beach and then later, at the reception in the City Beach Function Centre. During the reception Sam (to nobody’s surprise!) got up on stage and joined the Po’ Boys in a feisty rendition of the Martha and the Muffins song ‘Echo Beach’ reworded for the evening with the lyrics of the title changed to ‘City Beach’.

Among the guests was Troy’s World Superbike rival Garry McCoy and former World Superbikers Aaron Slight and Peter Goddard, plus Marty Craggill (ex-Aussie Superbike Champion) and Damien White (current Ute Champion). Troy’s former teammate James Haydon, together with Colin Edwards (MotoGP), Karl Muggeridge (WSBK) and Glen Richards (BSB) were unable to make the wedding due to testing commitments, but sent their best wishes to the happy couple.

The day also saw Kalani’s naming ceremony – after all, why not take advantage of a beautiful occasion! His appointed guardians were, from the family, Deeann and Colin Carr, Dale Corser, Jeremy “Jez” Davies and Jason Gray, plus close friends Nigel and Teija Arnold.

The couple also took the opportunity to announce that they are expecting their second child, due August 2005.

The party went on late into the night and a good time was had by all, but fortunately the lovely wedding photos (taken by Danny Dekker-Dekker Photography) were done before things got a bit hazy!
